Photogenic Science Competition

The first IPA photography competition is here!
The IPA is launching “Photogenic Science”, its first photography competition opened to all its early stage career members.
Submit your photos illustrating PDT- or PDD-related research to enter the competition and win one of many prizes.
The submissions are now open. Please submit by March 29, 2021 via email - ipasecretary@internationalphotodynamic.com
The contest is open to early career investigators (e.g. postdocs, clinical fellows/residents, postgraduates, undergraduates).
Submit your images in one of three categories: 1. Basic science, 2. Pre-clinical, and 3. Clinical. You may submit more than one image. Please include the following information in the email:
image title and caption (please do not exceed 60 words)
photographer name and affiliation
File naming convention and image specifications
Please provide your name, title of the image and category you enter.
e.g. AnneLaure_Bulin_Icecream_Preclinical
Suggested resolution and size of submission: 72 dpi, 1200 to1800 pixels on the long edge
Prizes
12 images will be shortlisted for an online event and 3 prizes will be awarded. Awards include free membership for 2 years and publication of the winning images in the Journal of Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy.
Copyright
All submitters warrant that they own the work submitted and that they have the exclusive copyright. The IPA recognizes that the photographer retains full ownership of the image copyright.
Usage
Submitters warrant that their photographs may be reproduced for the purpose of marketing and promoting the IPA including catalogues, posters, postcards, publications, and on the Internet. Such use is granted for no more than two years after the announcement of the works selected in this competition. Such use is granted without any payment to the photographer or featured models. Photographers will receive credit with each use, and allow the IPA to sublicense their photographs to the press for reproduction in connection with the IPA competitions and awards. The IPA reserves the right to reject and remove any entry that contains defamatory, racist, obscene or pornographic content, or that may be considered a criminal offence or violate any law.
