The purpose of the EPIC Meeting on Photonics for Cancer Diagnostics and Treatment at NKI is facilitating closure of the existing gap between unmet medical needs and innovative industrial solutions. The clinicians will make a comprehensive overview of the existing requirements for cancer diagnostics and treatment with the special emphasis on breast and prostate cancer. In turn, the companies will share their latest technological advantages that are aiming to solve present issues.
The developments focusing on the minimal invasive diagnostic tools as well and interoperative tumor margin assessment such as Hyperspectral and Diffuse reflectance imaging, Raman spectroscopy, OCT fluorescence imaging, etc. will be discussed alongside with novel developments in the fields of the photodynamic therapy and other light-induces treatment solutions.
